Claim does not include the flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, bell housing, carburetor, headers, starter, motor mounts, sending units, switches for oil pressure and water temperature, carburetor adapter, fan and pulleys, clutch ball, clutch arm, throw-out bearings, dip stick, water pump, fuel pump, distributor, and plug wires.
Top four finishers in every race must report to inspection area and are subject to claim in the A feature by any driver finishing fifth of farther back. Any driver lapped by fourth place car is not eligible to claim. Driver allowed only one claim per event. In case of multiple claims on same engine, engine will go to qualified claiming driver by draw. Driver making claim must drive his car immediately after finish of feature to the claiming area under its own power. Driver is only eligible for motor claim if finished the race without being disqualified.

Only drivers, track officials, or other persons designated by a track official are allowed in the claiming area.

Claims must be made within five minutes of the end of the feature race and claimed engine must be removed within one hour from time claim is made and driver agrees to sell claimed engine. Claims must be official, accompanied by the correct amount of cash in order to claim. Only driver may claim engine and only driver may agree to sell or refuse to sell. First sell or no sell by driver being claimed is binding. Refusal to sell forfeits all cash and contingency winnings for feature, trophies earned in feature, and all points for the night. Any driver refusing to sell engine when claimed within rules, loses his or her right to claim any driver’s engine for twelve calendar months from date of refusal to sell.
First refusal to sell will result in loss of points for the night and will also result in driver being fines $25, which goes to the points fund. Second refusal to sell will result in driver being suspended from events for fourteen calendar days from date of refusal and a $50 fine, which goes to the points fund. Any driver found to be claiming an engine for other than himself will lose all points for the season and will be suspended for thirty calendar days.
All claimed engines must be removed from car at the track. Buyer must examine before removal. Once removal is started, the sale is final. The cylinder block may not be altered in such a way as to prevent it from being used in stock application. Stock OEM components must be able to be immediately used in their stock location. Drivers are to be held accountable for any sabotage discovered while pulling the engine, and will be responsible for any and all penalties as a result of any sabotage. Any sabotage discovered to claimed engine will result in driver being suspended from competition for thirty calendar days. The claim will be disallowed and the money returned to the claimer. No driver may claim more than four engines during the current calendar year. No driver may claim unless he or she has competed at the track the previous race night.
No one driver may claim any other driver’s engine more than once during current calendar year.
